NUX makes some useful and affordable guitar gear and its latest release is the new Mighty 20BT. This Bluetooth enabled practice amp has plenty of handy features geared towards use at home.

The NUX Mighty BT20 has four channels. Each has four sound presets available, making this a flexible little practice amp. You can use and combine three effects simultaneously – you can choose from Phaser, Chorus, Tremolo for modulation, Tape Delay, Mod Delay, Digital Delay with dotted 8ths as well as Plate Reverb, Hall Reverb and Spring Reverb.
The 20 Watts of power should be enough for home use. The three-band onboard EQ section will probably be aqequate to help you dial in your tones. There’s also a built-in tuner, which is welcome when you just want to get on and play.

And then there’s Bluetooth. You can connect your media device to the Mighty BT20, letting you play along to your fave tunes. NUX to has also provided an app for mobile control of the Mighty BT20; the app runs on both Android and iOS. But you can also use the 1/8” Aux input to play along to music. Or plug your headphones into the headphone output for a bit of private practice that won’t annoy your neighbours.
All in all, this seems a neat little amp and if the street price is good then it could be popular with players on a limited budget. You can check out the demo video below to hear what it can do.
A Crowded House?
The Mighty 20BT comes in at a similar price to the recent IK Multimedia iRig Micro amp and the ubiquitous Blackstar Fly range as well and the recently released Super Fly.
Will NUX be able to make headway in a crowded marketplace? If the NUX can perform sonically and compete on price then it might be able to get in on the action.
