Usually, it goes the other way. Most modules come out in Eurorack format first, and then somebody makes a virtual version for VCV Rack. This time, 4ms has turned it around: 4ms MESA is a hardware version of the popular Valley Plateau reverb from VCV Rack.

Like the software original, 4ms MESA is a stereo plate reverb based on the famous Dattorro algorithm from 1997. Like Valley Plateau, it excels at endless reverb tails with heaps of modulation, but it can also do shorter reverbs of course.

The knobs and patch sockets have been rearranged to make the module more user-friendly in the rack, but everything’s there. 4ms MESA is fully CV-controllable with 10 inputs for Input Filter, Pre-Delay, Diffusion, Size, Mod Depth/Rate/Shape, Decay, Reverb Filter, and Dry/Wet. This lets you go crazy with the reverb during creative sound design sessions.

4ms MESA will be released in August 2026 for $399.

4ms LEQA: Vintage-Style Leveling EQ Amplifier

The second new module from 4ms is LEQA, a vintage-inspired Leveling EQ Amplifier for your master. It combines a compressor/limiter inspired by the legendary LA-2A with a 1073-style 3-band EQ. In addition, the 14 HP module includes a CV-controllable stereo width processor.

The compressor offers a choice of two ratios (3:1, 10:1) and a gain reduction meter. The 3-band EQ has four switchable frequencies each for the low and high shelving bands, plus a mid band with six frequency ranges. There’s also a high-pass filter.

4ms LEQA is scheduled for release on 30 June 2026 for $345.
