With the included XYH-5s X/Y mic capsule, four F-Series XLR combo preamp inputs, and a stereo minijack input, the H6studio provides recording of up to eight tracks simultaneously to microSDHC cards (up to 32 GB) and microSDXC cards (up to 2 TB). However, the device also functions as a 6×2 USB audio interface with recording and streaming on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.

More Information

The H6studio is also compatible with the SSH-6e stereo / mid-side shotgun mic capsule, the XYH-6e stereo mic capsule, and the EXH-6e input expansion module. Operation is made easy with the 2-inch colour display, and a built-in speaker. Meanwhile, timecode sync is possible via the optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter or the TCA-1 adapter.

Despite its connectivity and expandability options, the H6studio remains a straightforward recording device, suitable for location sound, field recording, or content creation workflows including interviews, podcasts, streaming, and more. What’s more, the H6studio can be powered by the optional AD-17 PSU, the USB-C port, or four AA batteries, which Thomann has kindly included.

In addition, the price tag is still on the reasonable side for a device that will become essential to so many industry professionals.
