Yamaha MGX Series Mixers: A New Range of Digital Multimedia Mixers
The Yamaha MGX Series offers versatile digital mixers in 18 and 22-channel options, and two models equipped with integrated video interfaces.
The MG Series mixers have been around for over 20 years, tackling audio applications across the industry from recording to sound reinforcement and broadcast. They have always been versatile audio tools, but to embrace the content era completely, the new MGX Series offers features for video integration.

The features have been cleverly implemented within the designs of the four new mixer models, which are each available in black and white. As we mentioned, there are two different sizes: the 18-channel MGX12 and the 22-channel MGX16, but the smart part is that there are video variants for each of these, the MGX12V and the MGX16V.
What’s more, most of the connectivity is accessible from the top control panel, and every model is rackmountable with the optional Yamaha RK-MGX rack ears. This allows you to fit these mixers into tight spaces where table-top real estate may be limited, or rack them up in a flight case and take them on the road with you.
On the analogue side, the MGX12/MGX12V offers four XLR combo preamp inputs and 6 TRS outputs, while the larger MGX16/MGX16V has eight combo preamps and eight TRS outputs. The 4.3-inch touchscreen provides control over all four models, and there is 18 or 22-track recording at up to 96 kHz over USB and 16-track recording to microSD.
The video versions are equipped with an HDMI-to-USB video/audio input with a capture function as well as real-time HDMI passthrough for added flexibility. Also, the MGX Series uses integrated DSP processing for low-latency monitoring, and there are useful features like Auto Gain, Clip Safe, Simple and Standard operation modes, and Scene Recall.
