Designed in collaboration with Drolo FX and Old Blood Noise Endeavors, the Chase Bliss Mood MKII takes the already impressive spatial effects pedal to spectacular new heights.

For those unfamiliar with Chase Bliss, the Mood pedal uses two channels with two separate DSP chips to create granular delay effects. The micro-looper section, created by Drolo FX, can produce edgy stuttering sounds or more rhythmic loops.

Meanwhile, the reverb/delay channel is designed by OBNE and provides impressive spatial and modulation capabilities.

What’s new about the Chase Bliss Mood MKII?

Well, for starters it’s stereo, which is something designer Andy Othling always wanted from the beginning. In addition, you can now overdub endless layers of loops on top of the existing micro-loop sounds.

Also, you can now switch between two loop length modes when creating micro-loops, which gives a wider creative scope. What’s more, the new freeze function can infinitely repeat signals from the wet channel, to create ambiences and rhythmic patterns.

As you move between modes, all the loops you create are preserved in the memory so you can keep adding as you go and the stretch function now works in both forward and reverse.

The more advanced features include smooth clock, refresh mode, channel sync, level balance, fading loops, tone control, and direct micro-loop for blending in your initial dry signal.

There are various other improvements and fixes with the Mood MKII in the following areas:

  • Noise-free clocking
  • Cleaner, more stable micro-loops
  • Purer-sounding modulated reverb
  • Cleaner more consistent Slip Mode
  • Delay time knob is more precise
  • In Tape Mode, loop length is controllable

However, should you prefer any particular quirks of the original Mood pedal, you can simply use classic mode to access them.

Pricing and availability:

The Mood MKII is now available for order directly from Chase Bliss for $399.
