Introducing the Audient EVO SP8 ADAT preamp!
It’s designed to be the perfect companion to the EVO 16 audio interface, but still provides eight additional Smartgain-equipped mic channels for any ADAT interface.
The Audient EVO SP8 preamp
If you aren’t yet familiar with the EVO series interfaces, they offer straightforward audio recording solutions that even beginners can quickly work out. The EVO SP8 continues on this path, but provides a slightly more pro feature set like the EVO 16.
You get a total of eight preamps with XLR combo inputs and the Smartgain functionality common to the EVO series. In addition, there are eight analogue line outputs and two sets of optical ins and outs.
What’s more, the SP8 has Wordclock input to clock the AD conversion to the EVO 16, or another audio interface. The firmware can be updated via the USB-C port on the rear panel, and the IEC power socket gives the unit a professional feel.
The front panel controls provide quick access to each individually numbered channel. Once selected, you can make Smartgain or manual gain adjustments, toggle between mic or instrument input modes, and activate phantom power.
Overall, the EVO SP8 is a neat expansion for your home recording setup, providing a simple hassle-free way to get eight additional inputs.
