Synergy Amps adds Steve Vai Signature module to swappable preamp range
Synergy Amps has just announced an intriguing new signature preamp developed with none other than guitar legend Steve Vai. It’s the company’s first signature product and is designed to provide Mr Vai’s guitar tones in a compact unit. The Steve Vai signature preamp is part of the Synergy modular preamp system.
Up until now Synergy Amps has concentrated on working with other manufacturers to create a range of preamp models. These include high-end boutique amp makers including Friedman, Soldano, Bogner, Diezel, ENGL, Morgan, Fryette and Metropoulos.
Steve Vai Signature Dual Channel all-tube synergy module
Loaded with two 12AX7 preamp tubes and voiced to Mr Vai’s personal taste, this new preamp module is all about getting you closer to his tone. It has controls for Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle and Treble. Then you have two channels to play with, as well. The first is called the Blue channel and it offers switchable ‘Fat’ and ‘Bright’ modes, while the overdriven Red channel has ‘Bright’ and ‘Boost’ switches. There’s also a three-position cathode select switch that lets configure the input tube bias setting.
You will need to be a user of the Synergy modular amplifier system to benefit from this new signature Vai module. But as a signature product, having an artist of the calibre of Steve Vai onboard says a lot about the quality you can expect of the system.
RRP – USD 399.99
