Strandberg Standard NX 6 Plini Edition Mirage
Announced at the beginning of the year, it’s finally here: the Strandberg Standard NX 6 Plini Edition with a stunning Mirage finish. According to the manufacturer, this model, which draws inspiration from the artwork Plini’s 2023 release Mirage, is one of the most sought-after variations of the exceptional guitarist’s signature model — and it’s no surprise why!

The model’s “Black Granite” body finish is combined with glow-in-the-dark graphics taken directly from the “Mirage” artwork. The elegant overall impression is supported by the roasted maple neck with Ebonol fingerboard, the new EGS Rev7B tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and the two Strandberg Custom OEM pickups.
The Mirage is available from Thomann* for 2,299 euros.

[June 11, 2025] Strandberg’s Boden Prog NX6 Deep Blue and NX7 Deep Blue models introduce updates to the brand’s headless guitar design, available in both six-string and seven-string formats.
Deep Blue
The Boden Prog NX6 and NX7 models are according to Strandberg, are among their most popular models. This gorgeous Deep Blue finish also makes these two latest releases stand out, and I think it suits the headless design nicely.
Roasted Maple & Ebonol
Strandberg has reintroduced the Roasted Maple necks (with carbon fiber reinforcements), which I am sure will please many players, as it is a nice feature with lots of benefits for neck stability, and visually, roasted maple also looks great.
This model is a bolt-on neck design and uses Strandberg’s NX sculpted neck joint heel.
Ebonol
The necks are fitted with a jet-black Ebonol fretboard, which also pops aesthetically against the Deep Blue finish on this model. Ebonol is also very consistent and should be super smooth to the touch, making it a good substitute for ebony.
They are fitted with 24 Jescar 51100 stainless steel frets on a 20″ radius fretboard, which will feel super flat.
Chambered
Construction consists of chambered swamp ash for the body, which has a solid maple top with a flame maple veneer.
Again, the Deep Blue satin acrylic finish looks fantastic over the veneer, and the chambered construction allows them to keep the weight at around 2.3kg / 5 lbs with a +/- 10% range across these models.
NX6 Suhr Humbuckers
The black anodised hardware includes the EGS Rev7B tremolo bridge (with a pop-in tremolo arm) and string locks, and these six-string models are fitted with a pair of Suhr pickups: the SSH+ Bridge humbucker and a SSV Neck humbucker.
These are controlled by a master volume and tone control with a 5-way pickup selector switch.
NX7 Fishman Humbuckers
The NX& instead features the Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic (bridge) and Fishman Fluence Modern Alnico (neck), with brushed stainless steel covers. They have a Master Volume with a push/pull for coil-split, and a Master Tone with push/pull for the voice select, and this model has a 3-way pickup selector switch.
Both models ship in a Venture gig-bag to keep them protected when you are on the move.
