Sputnik is a modded guitar made by David O and Remy Sefi, the guitar started out as a plain old Ibanez Semi-Hollow AS53 model, but now it is full of tech to make it squeal!

This modded Ibanez Semi-Hollow AS53 is stuffed with the following technology to make it into something more than a regular guitar: Seven Bluetooth Midi Buttons,  two MIDI knobs, one MIDI Motion Control, a  Fishman TriplePlay MIDI pickup and a Realtime Pixel Styled Audio Visualizer.

I’m not quite sure what they were thinking when they came up with the idea for the Sputnik but I’m glad they actually got around to building it. I think it is very cool and looks like it would be fun to play as well.

The whole system is controlled by Arduino microcontrollers and just goes to show you what can be achieved with a little bit of coding, a pinch of craziness and a lot of time with a soldering iron.

I would highly suggest that you check out the demonstration video below and I’ve added the links to Remy’s social media sites below as well, so you can check out more about him.
