Seemingly a solid starter compressor, smart:comp 2 lets you get the desired effect without excessive tweaking. It also lets you gradually shape the compression character with its Style dial. This makes your tracks sound darker or brighter. Meanwhile, the free-form transfer function and its built-in templates let you achieve consistent signal levels.
Working with smart:comp 2 is straightforward with all crucial compression parameters found where you’d expect them in a regular single band compressor. There’s also the automatic input level riding feature to let you shape dynamics without having to dial in input level. Also available is real-time monitoring with instant impact prediction.
