The Softube Weiss Exciter is a transparent harmonic processor designed to innocuously enhance your mix, while maintaining its integrity.
Since the mid-1980s, the Swiss manufacturer Weiss Engineering has created high-end audio solutions for mastering studios. Today, through the company’s longstanding collaboration with Softube, Weiss is able to make this technology available for DAW users.

Is it possible to design an exciter that doesn’t colour the sound? This was the premise for the Softube Weiss Exciter plugin, and it was achieved in a number of ways. With adaptive non-linear processing, the Weiss Exciter is able to create harmonics at any part of the dynamic range.
With a special mastering mode, the plugin can decrease the fundamental frequency levels within distortion for more organic-sounding results. Meanwhile, precise filters with phase compensation and four different harmonic modes allow you to accurately target varying degrees of harmonic shaping to enhance any mix.
The Weiss Exciter’s workflow starts with the main frequency visualizer area. Here you can set the frequency range of the processing and determine exactly where you want the harmonics in your mix. In addition, the controls allow you to adjust the level of harmonics, set the amount of excitation, and vary the stereo width.
There is also an advanced options panel for pro mastering engineers, providing a deep level of precision and control to achieve the most transparent results with the Weiss Exciter’s harmonic shaping capabilities.
