Samplab Resynthesizer Combines Samples and Synthesis With AI
This Plugin Transforms Samples Into New Patches
The Samplab Resynthesizer is a new plugin that combines the simplicity of sampling with the control of a synthesizer. As the name suggests, it synthesizes individual samples and makes them fully playable with its synth engine. But that’s not its only feature.
Samplab Resynthesizer: A Fusion of Sampling and Synthesis
Samplab Resynthesizer uses one-shot samples as a basis and allows you to easily drag and drop them into the plugin. The plugin then analyzes the sample using a locally running AI engine. Next, the sound is broken down into harmonic and percussive components.
Both components can be edited individually to shape the sound, which can then be played chromatically over several octaves using the plugin’s synthesizer engine – just like a synthesizer patch. Additional editing is also possible, of course. For example, you can adjust the number of harmonics, add drive, or use the Smooth function to soften the sound. Sounds interesting.
Samplab Resynthesizer offers an additional section for loading and synthesizing another sample, providing even more possibilities. The pitch is automatically adjusted so that the two samples work together as a playable instrument.
Of course, you can also combine the two sounds; this morphing can be controlled with an LFO. Samplab Resynthesizer offers high- and low-pass filters for both sections, plus a simple envelope, a glide option, and reverb to breathe a little more shape and movement into the sounds.

The interface is simple yet clear. Overall, Resynthesizer piques my curiosity. The concept reminds me a little of Tomofon by Klevgrand.
You can try Resynthesizer directly in your browser on the manufacturer’s website with a selection of presets. No download is required.
