If you need a MIDI editor for a hardware synth that’s both graphically and functionally beautiful then Momo Müller is your man. Having produced editors for all the Roland Boutiques, all the Korgs and many more, he’s now come up with the definitive SE-02 MIDI editor.

The layout is perfect, matching up to the hardware, but with a few extras that Momo always likes to include. You get two XY Pads for a bit of multi-parameter action. And he also digs down into functionality that’s not available on the hardware front panel.

The idea is that you load the editor as a plug-in in your DAW and it allows you to easily automate all the controls and parameters of the hardware. It also gives you the ability to track hardware changes and reflects whatever adjustments you make to the SE-02. And then all your changes and automation can be saved within your project. It’s very neat, easy-to-use and essential for any SE-02 owner.

I don’t think Korg or Roland bother to make editors anymore as they know Momo will be along with a better one sooner or later. It will set you back just under 6 Euros and works with MacOS and Windows in AU and VST format, 32 or 64bit and standalone.
