PRS S2 Mira 594: Revamped for 2025
The latest release from PRS Guitars is the newly revamped S2 Mira 594. Available in new finish options and with an updated specification for 2025.
S2 Mira 594
The PRS S2 Mira 594 is a straightforward guitar with a solid mahogany body, first introduced back in 2008. You can now customise the look and feel with your choice of satin or high-gloss nitrocellulose finish. While the finish option affects the price, all other components are identical across the new 2025 range.
It features a bound, 22-fret pattern-thin mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, glued directly to the body. It features a 24.594-inch scale length (giving it the 594 name), and the signature PRS Bird inlays give it a distinctive look and feel.
This model is equipped with a PRS stoptail bridge, with brass inserts and a set of PRS Phase III tuners with brass shafts. This is, in Paul Reed Smith’s view, a great way to contribute to the overall tone of this ‘back-to-basics’ guitar.
PRS 58/15 LT Vintage
The secret to the guitar’s warm, focused midrange is its all-mahogany body and a pair of PRS 58/15 LT Vintage pickups. Notice how the neck pickup has polepieces flipped towards the bridge on this model, which I’m guessing is another subtle PRS tonal tweak.
Paul Reed Smith loves to get as much tone from his guitars as possible (though some of his tonal claims are sometimes pretty far-fetched in my opinion).
Mini-Toggle Switches
These humbuckers are being billed as incredibly versatile, featuring two mini-toggle switches that allow users to split them individually. This gives you the flexibility to switch between powerful, rich humbucker tones and the sweet, bell-like clarity of single-coil pickups, making the guitar suitable for just about any genre.
