Now celebrating 35 years in business, the renowned British speaker manufacturer PMC sits at the very mezzanine of the audio industry. In fact, it’s likely that the majority of your favourite albums were mastered on PMC speakers at either Metropolis or Sterling Sound.
PMC Main Monitor Series
The new PMC Mains series has a new generation of large-format low-frequency drivers. Designed to operate in tandem with the ATL™ bass-loading system and LaminairX™airflow the bass drivers use vented motor assemblies and dual-spider suspensions, as well as triple-wound drive voice coils that offer up to 36 mm of linear excursion, which is three times more than the previous models.
The resulting sound is incredibly precise and perfectly articulated low-end reproduction even at high-SPLs. In the midrange, the new PMC75v3 soft-dome driver is built by hand, incorporating proprietary a-void™ absorption. An elongated acoustically dampened chamber nullifies rear-wave reflectivity, so there is no chance of colouration.
At the same time, distortion is minimized, while transient accuracy is improved, for the most transparent and open-sounding midrange possible. In addition, the 34mm soft-dome high-frequency driver is also hand-built with a shallow waveguide design, delivering natural response and reduced ear fatigue.
Each of the new PMC10, PMC12, PMC15, and PMC10-4 models in the Main Monitor Series uses the latest DSP and amplification system from PMC, which works around the SoundAlign2™ environment and the master36 system controller. This allows you to conveniently configure and optimize the system from a browser-based interface.
