Musikmesse 2018: MXL VPS bundle may have all your video podcasting needs covered
At Musikmesse 2018 in Frankfurt, manufacturer MXL announced a very interesting audio and video recording bundle. The VPS Visual Podcasting station targets video podcasters and vloggers. It comprises the following products:
MXL BCD-1 Live Broadcast Dynamic Microphone which is an end-address broadcasting mic with hinged mic stand and built-in shock mount for dealing away with vibrations and unwanted noise
MXL BCD-Stand which is a flexible, spring-articulated boom arm that allows for custom microphone placement. The arm includes a table clamp and swivel mount.
Marshall CV502-U3 Miniature POV Camera records live Full-HD video over USB 3.0. Interchangeable lenses are available for custom camera angles. The camera is bus-powered.
MXL Mic Mate Pro, which is an XLR to USB adapter with gain control.
MXL USB Hub with four inputs and one output over USB 3.0.
The bundle is available in Solo and Duo variants, the latter simply being everything multiplied by two (save for the MXL USB Hub). Alas, the price and release date aren’t listed, so we’re getting in touch with MXL to ask around and will update the post if we hear back. It looks like a very complete, fully-featured kit for video podcasting!
Update — the bundles are in stock now at MXL dealers, priced USD 800 for the VPS Solo and USD 1600 for the VPS Duo.
