At Musikmesse 2018, Audio-Technica announced the ATH-M60X, a pair of monitor headphones designed for professional applications.

The cans have a closed-back, on-ear design for optimum isolation and fit. They are driven by ATH’s proprietary 45mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminium wire voice coils as used in the popular ATH-M50x model.

Like most monitor headphones, these are low-impedance so they are able to deliver adequate output regardless of the source they are plugged into.

Additionally, the earpads are made out of memory foam, which supposedly makes them a comfortable fit over hours of work. The earpads and headband are detachable for an easy replacement.

Audio Technica claims these headphones offer exceptional clarity and accurate bass response through an extended frequency range. In terms of cable length, these are available in 1.2m to 3m coiled, or 1.2m/3m straight detachable cables and ship with a carrying pouch for protection.

Priced GBP 179 including VAT, the ATH-M60X will be on sale Summer 2018 through ATH’s dealer network.
