The latest product in Mooer’s GE Labs technology range, the Prime P1, is an ultra-compact audio interface and multi-effects loader, packed full of features. It’s accessible via iPhone or Android devices, for ultimate control, and using Mooer’s MNRS technology for high-quality digital amp models and effects.
Mooer Prime P1
The Mooer Prime P1 contains 126 guitar effects, 73 bass effects, and 40 drum machine slots, plus an 80-second looper. You also get dual effect chains for bass guitar, and 10 classic bass guitar amplifier models, and the obligatory tuner and metronome. To access all these features, you need to use the accompanying Android or iOS app, and then apply these effects to your guitar or bass, build and share presets, and load up to four patches at once. The unit uses Bluetooth audio playback for practice and jamming, so you can wirelessly play along to your favourite tracks.
Mooer calls it an Intelligent Pedal and, even though it isn’t actually a pedal itself, you can attach the Mooer F-Series wireless footswitches via Bluetooth, to control the various sections remotely. As it is such a portable unit, you can power the Prime 1’s 1900mAh lithium battery, which charges via USB. A single charge will give you around 4.5 hours use. This USB port also allows the Prime 1 to be used as an audio interface for recording to your phone, tablet, etc.
The Prime P1 has an input and an output jack socket, and a headphone output. Connectivity is pretty basic, but enough to do the job it was created for. The unit is available in Graphite Black, Ivory White and Space Grey finishes. Currently there is no listed official pricing. And as is often the way with Mooer, the main product page is quite vague about the product, but lists all the core specifications.
However, you can see the official demo video below. It could be handy practise tool or more, for the right person. But it will depend a lot on the app, the price point, and the quality of the effects.
