Modular Day BCN #8: Performances, workshops and presentations from Barcelona
Befaco hosts a 2-day extravaganza of modular performances, product demos and DIY workshops from a bunch of boutique makers and artists in Hangar, Barcelona and streamed online.
Modular Day BCN #8
Split over the course of Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of October Modular Day becomes an event of two evenings where we will be treated to a fabulous roster of modular goodness. There will be performances from the likes of Death Whistle, Arquea Colectivo and Schlappi, products demos from manufacturers such as Erica Synths, Error Instruments and Winter Modular and DIY workshops with Befaco, Jolin Lab and Feedback amongst many others.
The performances will also have a visual element either incorporated into the sets or running alongside, with digital artists such as Marta Verde Baqueiro and Me-Lenna providing the feasts for our eyes.
For the workshops, you can order a kit from the website and build it along with the people who designed the modules. There’s also a chance to win a MIX BX module from Feedback Modules.
The two evenings are open to a limited number of visitors but the focus will be on the live streaming. It’s not entirely clear exactly how things will be threaded together but they have 5 hours to fill each evening kicking off at 6pm. I’ll be there doing some virtual contributions to the chat and discussion and it should be a lot of fun. There are a lot of great products on demo that you might have missed in the Superbooth coverage so tune in for that and the fantastic performances.
Modular Day #8 starts on Friday from 6pm UTC+1 (BST) until 11pm and then the same again on Saturday.
