Metric Halo have just announced a flash sale on their TransientControl “transient modifier and waveshaper” plug-in, as they call it. The price has been reduced by a hefty 86%. If you’re looking to add a transient designer-type effect to your plug-in arsenal, this might well be worth a look. The offer ends on 1st Nov.

By now most of us are passably familiar with transient design as a component in mixing. The majority of DAWs offer some kind of transient modifier plug-in included as standard. Metric Halo’s TransientControl uses an algorithm to analyse the signal and lets you influence the dynamics in a more detailed way than a standard compressor. The company also say the CPU hit is “very low”. Low enough, they claim, to let you put it on every single channel, should you want to.

The effect has three views to choose from, each offering a different number of parameters. Beginners can select a Basic GUI view and skip through the presets for instant results without being confronted with too many settings.

The Flash Sale Price is $25, down from $179, although it’s also included in the Production Bundle, alongside a bunch of other audio tools. There’s a full 30-day demo available, too. TransientControl is available for Windows and OSX as VST, AU and AAX format, in both 32- and 64-bit versions. You also need an iLok account.

For more information, check out the Metric Halo TransientControl page. Or if you want to buy this exact second, head over to the TransientControl page in the online shop, where Metric Halo will be happy to take your cash from you.
