Introducing Zynaptiq Pitchmap::Colors and Orange Vocoder Nano, the latest offerings from the renowned audio software developer based in Hanover, Germany.
If the names of these plug-ins sound somewhat familiar, it’s because these are slightly focussed and scaled-down versions of the existing Pitchmap and Orange Vocoder plug-ins from Zynaptiq.
Zynaptiq Pitchmap::Colors
Like its larger brother, Pitchmap::Colors is aimed at creative sound design. So you can remap the pitch of existing audio to fit the song you’re currently working on, or impart harmonic characteristics onto completely atonal sounds.
The Pitchmap algorithm analyzes and adapts to any type of audio in its path, allowing you to use the plug-in as a sound design or a music production tool for remixing and sampling parts of existing tracks or stems.
There are 3 different operating modes, each with different characteristics including; the SICK mode, which is sonically more natural, the resonant INSANE mode, and WTF or Warp Those Frequencies.
Pitchmap divides the input signal according to pitch, and you can then move these around on the pitch grid with the UI keyboard or by using MIDI. Even industrial noise can be shifted into melodic sounds simply by playing a chord.

Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder Nano
The popular Orange Vocoder was one of the first and the best-sounding software vocoders ever designed, and the Vocoder Nano aims to give you some of its creative qualities without the same considerable level of investment.
You’ll find 4 algorithms from the original Orange Vocoder are included with the Nano version. These include Advanced LPC-35 Medium, Online ICA Butter, Speech Model Detailed, and Analog Model Live Tight, which is latency-free.
In addition, the Orange Vocoder Nano provides a formant shift function with an octave range, and a monophonic synth engine that can be used as a carrier with MIDI input.
With the simple 3-way mixer, you can balance the input signal, synth, and vocoded signal, and the onboard chorus effect gives you another tool to refine your sound.
