Combined drives

Big Tweedy is based upon the company’s Simble Overdrive and Simble Predriver units, which have been reworked here and combined to form one effect pedal. Allegedly, they have been tweaked so that they work better together within one pedal.

It incorporates a pre-drive, which is designed to work and interact with your guitar’s volume. The fascinatingly names Hot/Cool knob controls a ‘pre-overdrive’ boost. The frequency of the drive section is focused using the Accent control, which is set in the chain before the overdrive. The Sensitivity knob sets tha amount of gain, while Contour alters the output signal tone.

It all sounds like an interesting way to overdrive your guitar’s signal. Check out the video below for a more in-depth view of the new pedal.

The Twimble is due out in April this year and should be available to try out at the Winter NAMM Show, so look out for more reports in the coming weeks.
