Combine up to four filters at the same time with the KORG Filter Ark, which finally makes the miniKORG 700s Traveler filter available in plugin form. That plus MS-20, ARP Odyssey, PolySix, and 10 more!

KORG Filter Ark

The day that I have waited for has finally arrived. Ever since I had a miniKORG 700 way back in the 1990s, I have been in love with the Traveler, the analog synth’s combo high- and lowpass filter. I’ve long wanted this in plugin form, and KORG has finally done this in the form of the Filter Ark. But it’s not just the Traveler; there are 13 more filter models inside (for a total of 14), including versions of the MS-20, PolySix and ARP Odyssey filters taken from the KORG Collection.

Along with those famous four, the new plugin also gives you unusual filter types such as a Morphing Filter, Waveguide, IR filtering, Spectrum Tracer, and Modal Resonators.

Four Filters, Four Modulation Sources

Although the name suggests the filters come in pairs, Filter Ark actually lets you run four models at a time – and in a variety of routing configurations, including in series, parallel, feedback, and more.

It also offers four types of modulation, including a morphable LFO, an envelope follower with a sidechain input, a customizable step sequencer with adjustable steps and playback modes, and a random generator.

Additionally, there’s a noise generator and cutoff-frequency scale quantizer that together allow you to use Filter Ark as an experimental sound generator.

Lastly, there are macro controls for programming and performance.

Pricing and Availability

KORG Filter Ark looks like an outstanding filter plugin. I’m a big fan of Arturia’s standalone filter apps. Having 14 in one VST with all of the routing options and extras makes this a pretty exciting release.

KORG Filter Ark is now available for Mac and PC in AU, VST, VST3, and AAX formats for an introductory price of $49.99. That will eventually rise to $99.

It’s also available as part of the KORG Collection 6.
