Kemper Profiler MK 2 Series: A New Era for Amp Capture? Order Now!
Profiler MK 2 announced with more power and features for the Head, Rack, Stage and Power Amp
The Kemper Profiler MK 2 Series has just been announced and brings more power to the range for 2025. The updated series, encompassing the Profiler Head, Rack, Stage, Player, and powered versions, promises enhanced power, flexibility, and creative potential for musicians.
Profiler MK 2
At the core of the Profiler MK 2 Series is an upgraded processing engine, delivering faster performance with boot times reduced to around 20 seconds.
Visually, Kemper appears to stick to a winning formula. The Profiler MK2 Series largely retains the familiar aesthetic of the beloved first-generation Profiler models. The “toaster” unit, in particular, looks very similar to its predecessor, albeit without the signature Kemper green. However, one notable design omission is the lack of a colour display, and it is also still a very small screen.
Kemper states that this improved engine paves the way for a host of new features designed to expand the capabilities of modern guitar and bass rigs. Users can expect noticeably faster boot times, preset switching, and UI responsiveness, particularly in Performance Mode.
Christoph Kemper, Founder & CEO of Kemper, stated, “The new PROFILER MK 2-Series makes the PROFILERs feel more like a complete rig than ever before. With instant access to essential FX, full USB audio integration, and improved playability, we’re giving our users a platform that adapts and grows with them.”
This hardware update will be welcomed by many, as many competing products, including IK’s Tonex range, have been growing steadily in the last few years.
Expanded Effects and Next-Generation Profiling
One of the most notable advancements in the MK 2 Series is the new effects architecture, now offering an incredible 20 simultaneous audio effect blocks.
This includes seven additional effect slots, bringing the total to 20, all running with zero added signal latency. New “pedalboard essential” FX slots include a second Noise Gate (Palm Ninja), Compressor, Pure Booster, WahWah, Vintage Chorus, Air Chorus, and Double Tracker.
According to Kemper, this effectively provides a fully integrated digital pedalboard that boots quickly and retains all settings.
New Profiling Technology
Kemper also teased a new profiling technology for the MK 2 series, with availability expected this summer. Currently undergoing testing with third-party profile vendors, this new technology aims to redefine amp profiling.
This update is a little vague at the time of writing, however, some information has been shared by Kemper, so we know a little. The information shared is all a bit ‘hyped-up, marketing speak’ with little actual technical detail, but the main bullet points below are what we have for now.
- Over 100,000 individual frequency points analyzed for incredibly precise amp recreation.
- Next-Level Speaker & Dynamically adjustable Cabinet Resonance, capturing true dynamics with complex impulse responses.
- Liquid Profiling Technology seamlessly integrates the original amp’s gain and tone controls, transforming a single profile into a dynamic, living amplifier.
- A cutting-edge hybrid approach combining analog measurement with Kemper’s profiling intelligence for unparalleled precision and feel.
Lighter
The Profiler Stage Mk 2 boasts what they are calling a smarter internal design and new lightweight aluminum components, making it even more gig-friendly without compromising build quality.
Plus, the units now include native 8-channel USB audio support, allowing seamless multitrack recording and reamping directly into a DAW without an external interface. This is certainly a useful update and could be great for studio work.
They have also given the integrated looper a significant upgrade, offering up to two full minutes of recording time for extended phrases, layered soundscapes, or full performances (Looper available from LVL 3 for the Player).
Pricing & Availability
The new Kemper Profiler MK 2 Series models are available now from dealers worldwide and directly from the Kemper Online Store. All new features require a KEMPER PROFILER MK 2 Series device.
- Profiler Head: €1,398 / $1,329 – here at Thomann*
- Profiler Rack: €1,398 / $1,329 – here at Thomann*
- Profiler Stage: €1,549 / $1,475 – here at Thomann*
- Profiler PowerHead: €1,798 / $1,699 – here at Thomann*
- Profiler PowerRack: €1,798/ $1,699 – here at Thomann*

The Player also gets updates
The Mini Kemper Profile Player will also receive some updates as part of the Kemper Profiler MK2, but there’s no new device. The original seems to still have enough power to upgrade the software. The Level 3 upgrade package will also include the improved looper.

Verdict
It is about time Kemper had a major update, though their main site is down at the time of writing, and so details are still a bit vague on exactly what is new. I would guess that with the 10th Anniversary of Line 6’s Helix just around the corner, the next few months could see some major updates across the board with amp profiling and amp modelling systems.
Kemper was looking a bit outdated, so this could be just what their users need to stay in the game.

Free update for the Player!!!
No need to buy new hardware (phew!)
It’s 2025, and Kemper is issuing a new product that uses USB-B on the rear to shave off another 10 cents from production costs compared to using USB-C.
On the front they moved the FX button a few inches to the right, other than that it’s the exact same front, same display. On the back there is zero change.
It seems Kemper finally depleted their 68000 CPU stash, and switched to a different CPU, making a new revision and new software platform necessary. Other than that, there is no change at all.
I’m not complaining about price, it’s basically the same as the MK1, and I’m very happy with my Powerrack MK1.
