JHS Pedals Andy Timmons Overdrive
The collaboration between Andy Timmons and JHS Pedals’ Josh Scott began back in 2018. This led to the JHS Pedals AT+ Overdrive, a pedal that has since become an integral part of Timmons’ sound and, by his own admission, is indispensable on his pedalboard.
Mini Timmons
This pedal was already the standard size for an overdrive pedal. This new ‘mini’ version now offers it in a format that will suit cramped pedalboards of those looking to downsize and create smaller pedal setups.
The JHS AT Mini features the original AT V1 circuitry in a compact mini-enclosure. However, some features have been omitted. For example, the boost function and the selectable wattage modes (different compression levels) are missing from this new iteration. But for those who don’t miss these features and also want to save money, the AT Mini is a great option.
Amp-Like Drive Tones
The JHS AT Mini delivers British amp sound with open dynamics. Unlike its predecessor, this little amp is fixed at 100 watts. This means minimal compression and distortion, ranging from a powerful crunch to high-gain distortion, all on board.
Volume, Drive, EQ, and Air controls perform their essential amp-tone/drive functions. The EQ acts like a high-pass filter, adjusting the harshness in the high frequencies to suit individual taste. The Air control functions like a presence knob, adding brightness when needed.
