iZotope’s new RX Plugin Pack can rescue your audio (and wallet)
How many times have you recorded something and not had the level set correctly, but the first take was – as always – the best take? Audio restoration tools have become increasingly similar to a magician’s favourite trick. Technology has advanced incredibly in terms of ability, but the demand for tools to solve digital audio problems is much higher. The RX Plugin Pack contains 4 modules from the full RX suite; De-click, Dialogue De-noise, De-hum, and De-clip. iZotope state that these are lifted directly from the full RX package offering the same high standard of quality. These plugins can be run in most DAW’s in AU, VST, RTAS, AAX (32bit and 64bit) formats to straighten out distortions, hum and background noise as well as clicks.
The full RX package is truly remarkable, trust me. Although I’m mostly mixing, I find I spend some time in RX nearly everyday as it’s such a powerful tool. I think this choice of modules feels slightly post-orientated and not solely aimed for music, but for only 129 USD I don’t think anyone can complain considering the quality.
