As an innovator in multiple markets, we can expect big things from Sony. So rather than chasing the competition, this new range of creator-focussed microphones provides new workflows optimized for Sony’s camera systems.
Sony ECM-S1
The ECM-S1 is a tri-capsule condenser with 3 pickup modes. While the unidirectional mode functions in a similar way to a cardioid pickup pattern, the omnidirectional mode is perfect for ambient recordings.
With the addition of the stereo mode, you can capture interviews, music performances or location sound elements with crystal clarity and authenticity.
Besides the usual USB mic features, like mute, direct monitoring, and headphones out, the ECM-S1 also has a noise suppression mode and a low-cut filter.
However, most important of all is the fact that it provides up to 13 hours of wireless recording when paired with the included receiver.

Sony ECM-W3 and ECM-W3S
The ECM-W3 and ECM-W3S provide dual and single-channel wireless solutions with Bluetooth 5.3 technology, both with included receivers and charge cases.
The microphones provide an integrated noise suppression mode, activated with a simple switch, and the receivers can operate in either analogue or digital modes with a maximum range of 150 meters and for up to 6 hours on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the receiver records as a 48 kHz 24-bit USB interface and offers safety and attenuator functions to ensure that you can set your gain structure to match your recording application and compensate for any sudden changes in volume
