If you own Komplete by Native Instruments or keep an eye on the sample instrument space, you surely know Heavyocity. Its most popular product has to be DAMAGE (and its sequel) – a Kontakt library full of punchy, impactful sounds generated by striking or destroying all kinds of stuff in all sorts of devilish-but-controlled manners. It can be crushing car doors or using explosives. Doesn’t matter, it sounds huge and its also run through a bunch of clever, intricate processing.
I love the sheer mayhem of Damage and, even better, most Heavyocity products carry the same spirit! The Gravity series, ASPIRE: Modern Mallets, Mosaic Voices, ASCEND: Modern Grand, Damage 2, and the newly released Damage Drum Kit are not for delicate ears. It’s not all big Hollywood bomb sounds, because that gimmick would wear out quickly. But bombastic sounds are definitely Heavyocity’s element.

In particular, the PUNISH effects plugin is on sale for USD 49 instead of USD 199 (link *). It’s a saturator used for warmth all the way to extreme drive and compression effects. It’s modeled after Heavyocity’s custom analog signal chains and provides control over parameters like Compression, Saturation, Transients, EQ, and Limiting.
The process is finalized with the PUNISH knob that lets you dial in the amount of justice served. The PUNISH algorithm is used in all (I believe) Heavyocity virtual instruments to make for larger-than-life, speaker destroying sounds. Taking it out on its own in VST/AU/AAX format was a smart decision.
