Halloween freebie: Horror Box is full of intensely spooky sounds
Has Halloween left you in a ghoulish mood with more than a single dried-up paint spot that isn’t going away no matter how much you scrub? If that’s the case, or you simply require more scary soundscapes for your edgy electronica, head to BeatMaker’s site and download Horror Box for free.
HB is a rompler, of sorts, featuring nine presets and four layers of audio with the ability to combine them in ways you musically enjoy while they horrify others. Like most plug-ins with sampled sounds at heart, Horror Box has basic sound shaping tools like LP and HP filters, an LFO with waveform, rate, and depth controls, Attack & Release envelopes, and a simple but effective reverb. That’s already plenty to get started with, and you can add further processing if you wish. So, there’s a cool freebie for Halloween!
