Notadümblë Discontinued

The JHS Notadümblë DIY kit was big news only 2 weeks ago and was selling fast, in batches released every week. Now, JHS owner Josh Scott has released an official video statement where he owns up to making a big mistake with the new pedal and he is removing to from sale.

The Mistake

JHS inadvertently mislabeled the Notadümblë pedal due to a circuit mix-up. The company had borrowed John Mayer’s pedal to replicate its sound for their DIY stompbox. However, the final product ended up using a different circuit.

Scott discovered the error on May 17 when he requested the original schematic from his head engineer. “Upon reading the end of that reply I immediately froze, knowing something was horribly wrong,” he revealed in a recent YouTube video. Scott has since publicly acknowledged the mistake and is taking steps to correct the issue.

The “incorrect” version of the pedal has been discontinued. The total production run, initially planned for 15,000 units, has been halved to 7,500. The final batch was released on Friday, May 23, with 2,500 units ready for immediate shipment and 5,000 available for pre-order.

BBC1

JHS’s Notadümblë pedal was accidentally released with the wrong Dumble circuit. Josh Scott had intended to use the “Box It Later” circuit, but a mix-up led to the rarer “BBC-1” circuit being installed instead. This error was discovered when the schematics didn’t match, causing Scott to realise the mistake.

A Scalpers Delight

Despite the mix-up, some players may prefer the BBC-1 version. Scott emphasised his commitment to honesty and transparency with customers.

While the “incorrect” version is discontinued, a limited number are still available, and their value on the second-hand market is expected to rise. I have already seen some ridiculous price scalping on auction sites, and lots of sellers trying to make a profit with their kits.

Returns

JHS is now recreating the correct pedal, and it will be available soon. If you purchased the first version (and are unhappy for any reason), then you have until the end of June to ask JHS for a full refund.

No Cause of Death Announced

The Colts organisation highlighted Irsay’s extensive philanthropy, stating, “Jim’s generosity can be felt all over Indianapolis, the state of Indiana and the country.” They also noted his joy in sharing his musical collection with millions.

While a cause of death has not been released, Irsay had publicly battled addiction for decades and was a vocal supporter of addiction recovery and mental health causes.

Hopefully, the collection will be maintained. We will update you with any further events on this news story.

Inspired by Jimmy Page

The innovative device was conceived by Jonathan Shenhav, inspired by Jimmy Page’s iconic use of a violin bow with Led Zeppelin.

Shenhav recalls, “I saw Jimmy Page using a violin bow on his guitar – and it clicked. What if I could do this on an acoustic guitar? In that moment, it felt like my path had revealed itself. I grabbed an old violin bow and tried it. It sounded beautiful, but something wasn’t right – I kept hitting the guitar, and it felt limited.”
