Hammett to get a new Greeny signature?

Zero details yet, but it looks like we may well see a new Gibson Kirk Hammett Greeny Les Paul Standard model soon if this photo is to be believed. There have already been a few versions of the guitar made by Gibson, as it was owned by Peter Green and Gary Moore previously.

The image below popped up on the Facebook Gibson Les Paul group and is watermarked by Ross Halfin. Halfin is in the photo next to Kirk and they both are holding a Greeny, so could we see one soon? Or is it just a one-off model made for Halfin?

Since Halfin is Metallica’s official photographer it is feasible that he has his own one, plus the case at their feet bears his name after Hammetts’.

Nothing Else Matters…

Hammett managed to fluff the intro to Nothing Else Matters this weekend playing said guitar, so just even the pros with all the gear can get it wrong sometimes. You can check that performance out below. Kirk drops to the floor, apologises and starts again, whilst keeping the audience on his side.

Lego Fuzz Pedal

YouTube channel Mykola MrHardGuitar has just shared. a great video on how to build a fuzz pedal from scratch using the kid’s favourite Lego.

Step by Step

Undoubtedly, what’s great is the step by step tutorial on how to build a basic fuzz pedal and then the process of creating a Lego enclosure to house the fuzz. It is a neat way to learn how to build pedals and one that I think could help many players get into effect pedal building. If you want to explore making stompboxes, then this could be a great start for you.

No Soldering

If you aren’t brave enough to wield a hot soldering iron just yet, then maybe you could just convert an existing fuzz pedal and make a Lego enclosure for it instead. Below are a few budget fuzz units that could be easily converted.
