Gretsch Paisley Penguin & Honey Dipper Special – Double Gold!
Two gold coloured limited run Gretsch models announced
Gretsch has announced a limited expansion to its 2025 lineup, introducing two distinctive new gold models: the opulent Paisley Penguin and the resonant Honey Dipper Special.
Paisley Penguin
For players seeking a statement piece, the G6134TG Paisley Penguin arrives draped in a breathtaking gold edge burst finish over a gold paisley and sparkle top.
This visually stunning take on the classic Penguin model exudes vintage elegance, reminiscent of a bygone era of lavish style. While Gretsch hasn’t specified the exact production numbers, this limited edition is expected to be highly sought after.
More Than Oppulant
Beneath the flamboyant finish lies a chambered mahogany body paired with a glued-in mahogany neck shaped to a comfortable Standard U profile.
The 12” radius ebony fretboard features elegant MOP Neo Classic Thumbnail inlays, providing a subtle contrast to the guitar’s ornate aesthetic. True to its luxurious appearance, the hardware is gold, complementing the overall design.
TV Classic
The Paisley Penguin is equipped with a potent pair of TV Jones pickups – a TV Classic in the neck position and a TV Classic Plus Filter’Tron in the bridge – promising the iconic “Great Gretsch Sound.”
Individual volume controls for each pickup, along with a master volume, master tone, and a three-way selector switch, offer versatile tonal shaping.
A Bigsby B3GP string-through vibrato tailpiece and an Adjusto-Matic bridge with a pinned ebony base complete this exquisite instrument.
A fantastic-looking guitar, and it oozes Gretsch class!
MSRP – USD 3499/ GBP 3499

Honey Dipper Special
Next up is the slightly more affordable G9202 Honey Dipper Special Round-Neck, Brass Body Resonator Guitar at $749.99.
This limited-release instrument combines a Bell Bronze finish with a brass bell body, delivering a distinct and resonant tone. The “Ampli-Sonic” diaphragm, a hand-spun aluminium resonator cone crafted in Eastern Europe from nearly 99% pure aluminium, acts as the resonator equivalent of a custom-wound pickup.
Round Neck
Designed for traditional guitar playing with its round neck, the Honey Dipper Special features a 25” scale length, a hard maple biscuit bridge with ebony and maple saddles, and a mahogany neck with a vintage-inspired medium V profile. The fretboard is made of padauk, and the nut is bone.
Visually, the aged pearloid headcap and aged white binding on the fretboard provide refined details that set it apart from the regular G9201 Honey Dipper in silver.
MSRP – USD 749
