Gretsch announced this Limited Edition boygenius Broadkaster Jr model today and it is based on the band’s idea of a great instrument. It comes with boygenius-themed fretboard inlays. What’s more, it has a nickel head badge adorned with the band’s signatures and the band logo on the rear of the headstock.

Band Exclusive

The indie rock trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker has opted to sell the guitar directly from the band’s online store.

Filter’Tron

This model comes in a great-looking gloss black finish with a set of Electromatic Filter’Tron pickups powering the guitar. As it is a hardtail model it comes equipped with a vintage-style Gretsch trapeze tailpiece. The main guitar is made using a chambered centre block, plus a maple body with f-holes.

Sleek Black

Overall, a great-looking, smaller-bodied guitar and the band-themed unique fretboard inlays add a subtle touch to the design. In the official demo video above, it also sounds pretty nice, and it offers some great tones for the price point.

Pre-order

This exclusive model is a pre-order and can be purchased directly from the boygenius store on the band’s website. It states on the store that they expect shipping to be around 8/9/2024 which means there is a little while to wait.

Plus, there is a limit of one guitar per customer, so they may be hard to come by in the future. Therefore, if you are a fan of the band, or just like the specifications, then you may want to order sooner rather than later.
