After guitarists were blessed with a cheaper US-made Fullerton Standard Series, bass players are now rewarded for their patience with the new G&L Fullerton Standard bass models.

A bass guitar by G&L for under 1000 Euro/USD – so far the only models available in this price range are those made in the Far East. Addressing the budget conscious buyer, the new Fullerton Standard basses are made in their Fullerton, California factory in the USA.

LB-100 and JB Bass

The two new models are called the LB-100 and the JB Bass (read: Precision and the Jazz Bass). G&L, of course, was Leo Fender’s last stop. And some would argue that the G&L models are the best he ever designed.

Both models have an alder body with a hard maple neck with either a maple or a Caribbean rosewood fretboard. The neck profile is the G&L 1.5″ Medium C with a 9.5″ fretboard radius on both of the models, so should be more than comfy. The necks are loaded with  Jescar 57110 medium jumbo 18% nickel silver frets.

The LB-100 is offered in Vintage White and Emerald Blue, the JB in Emerald Blue and Ruby Red. It has a single G&L vintage Alnico split-coil pickup, whereas the JB has a pair of  G&L vintage Alnico jazz pickups. They are wired via dual volume controls and single tone control.

Each model has the same set of Custom G&L “Ultra-Lite” tuners with aluminium tapered string posts and that rather solid looking G&L Saddle Lock bridge with chrome-plated brass saddles.

Pricing has not yet been officially announced, but since the Standard guitar series comes in at around 1000 USD, we are hoping it will be around 1000 Euro/USD or thereabouts.

RRP – TBC includes a deluxe G&L gig bag
