AudioThing have got quite a special little free plug-in for you. It’s called Filterjam and you can spread it on your audio as thick or as thinly as you like (see what I did there?).

Loving the look. A nice big knob, a couple of controls – that’s what I’m all about. Keeping it simple and creative. Filterjam is a multi-band resonant filter. The input is split into 4 bands which are then either summed or multiplied depending on the position of the switch. You then have some emphasis you can add, set the gain and the mix – that’s it. All too easy.

The results are lovely. AudioThing know how to write plug-ins and this sounds smooth and dynamic, or when pushed, harsh and spiky in all the right places. There are a handful of presets but you’ll have more fun with the randomiser button. The different band combinations do create an opportunity for some nice sound variations.

The GUI is completely multi-touchable and so perfect for controlling with your fingers. Touch also benefits from the nice large size of the GUI.

The only thing perhaps missing is an LFO just to add some automated movement.

So there you go. A decent, touchable, clear, simple and sonically interesting filter that will cost you the price of your email address. Head over the AudioThing website to get your copy right now.
