Similar to the Diablo II models from earlier in the year but loaded with original Floyd Rose locking trem systems, the new Framus Diablo Progressive X is a high-performance guitar aimed squarely at the rock/metal player.

Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded

They both come factory fitted with a set of Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded pickups set. This includes a Jazz humbucker in the neck position and Jazz/Blues Trembucker to accommodate the Floyd Rose string spacing in the bridge position.

Each Diablo II Progressive X comes with a carved maple top. The construction is three-dimensional with curved contours, similar to the Framus Idolmaker series.

Both versions of the guitar, so Masterbuilt and Teambuilt, come with Plek Fretwork and Framus’ IFT – Invisible Fretwork Technology. The major difference being that the Masterbuilt models also come with rounded fret edges.

Masterbuilt

The Masterbuilt versions are all made at the Framus Markneukirchen Custom Shop. They feature a mahogany body with matching electronic compartment cover made of wood and a carved AAAA flamed maple top, a bolt-in flamed maple neck with a tigerstripe ebony fretboard that has 22 jumbo frets.

Hardware wise you get Graph Tech Ratio Locking tuners with matching wooden knobs and handy fluorescent side dots so you can see where you are playing in the dark.

Teambuilt

This version still gets the mahogany body just with an “Easy Access” electronic compartment cover. This time you get a slightly less fancy but still super impressive carved AAA flamed maple top, the same bolt-in maple neck just without the flame and the same tigerstripe ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets.

The Burgundy Blackburst Transparent version comes in either Nirvana Black Transparent Satin, Black and Burgundy Blackburst Transparent

RRP – TBC inc Starline RockBag and C.O.A.

Super Shredders

You can check them out briefly in the NAMM video below from earlier this year. Expect both guitars to be very well made and that Masterbuilt version probably won’t be cheap either.

However, if you appreciate a well-made guitar then Framus is always a safe bet. Those Germans are making some phenomenal guitars lately and Framus is at the top of their game right now.
