These new Fender Made in Japan Limited Adjusto-Matic Jazzmaster HH models are the latest offset models exclusive to the Japanese market.

It looks like a winning formula, a Fender Made in Japan Limited Adjusto-Matic Jazzmaster HH offset model.

Hardtail

Combining classic Jazzmaster offset guitar styling with a pair of Fender Modern Modified humbucking pickups and an Adjusto-Matic hardtail bridge.

Sure, purists may not like that hardtail setup, but if you don’t need a trem system to ‘glide’ with and would rather dig in hard, then these models are perfect for the job.

The controls consist of a Master Volume, Master Tone, and a three-way pickup selector switch. So no traditional Jazzmaster Rhthym Circuit here, which is not always a bad thing for many players.

Specifications

Key specifications include an alder body with a Modern “C” shape maple neck with 22 narrow tall frets on a 12-inch radius fretboard made of rosewood.

They also have a bone nut and a set of Vintage-Style tuners.

I’m also loving the colour choices for this limited run, which includes a Metallic 3-Color Sunburst, Teal Green Metallic, Black, or a Lake Placid Blue finish.

All of these look very nice and there is either a black or a tortoiseshell pickguard, depending on which colour you opt for.

Verdict

I keep saying this with every Fender Japan release because it is true.

The Japanese market is currently getting some of the best Fender guitars and their prices are way better than Mexican models for a lot of the range. Currently, these are roughly $1000 each if you convert the Yen list price.

These look great, I love the colours and if you want a more aggressive, modern Jazzmaster then they could be perfect for the job.

Hopefully, we will see some outside of Japan in the not-too-distant future, as many of the other ‘limited run’ Japanese market-only models have made it out into Europe and the USA in the last year.
