These two Fender Cory Wong Limited Edition Stratocaster models have just been announced and now the guitarist’s signature model is available in two new colour schemes.
Cory Wong Limited Edition Stratocaster
As with his standard Sapphire Blue Transparent * signature models, the new Fender Cory Wong Limited Edition Stratocaster comes with a scaled-down body for comfort, plus a modified headstock shape.
Now it will be made available for a limited time in two classic ’60s Fender finishes, Daphne Blue and Surf Green.
I’m guessing that the original model has done pretty well sales-wise, as Cory has a huge following and it ticks a lot of boxes for guitarists that need a good solid Strat clean tone.
This model features Corey’s American Ultra Modern “D” neck profile and a set of Seymour Duncan Cory Wong Clean Machine pickups. The wiring includes a push/push pot on Tone 2 that bypasses the 5-way switch and defaults to “Position 4”.
The neck has a rosewood fretboard with rolled edges and a compound 10-14” radius for comfort and modern playability.
All of which he specified and enable him to achieve those clean funky chops he is famous for.
It also comes with a set of deluxe locking tuners to keep tuning stable and for ease of use when re-stringing and a vintage-style 6-screw tremolo.
Other extras/features for this signature model include a Cory Wong hair tie (for muting the tremolo springs to achieve Cory’s rhythm tone), a set of rubber strap lock washers and a custom neck plate.
