Expressive E Presets for Dune 3, 2 Gorgeous Packs for the Korg Wavestate, More: Sounds and Presets
Sounds and presets from Expressive E, Marc Barnes, KAV, Oceanswift and more!
It’s a very synthy edition of Sounds and Presets with patches for Korg Wavestate, u-he Zebra, Fizmo sounds for Kontakt, and Expressive E presets for Dune 3.
Get your synth on with this selection of inspiring patches (and one Kontakt instrument). They’re all very synthy and very electronic – which is just how I like it.
While the patches are available from the synthesists themselves, the instruments mentioned in this article are all available at Thomann*.
Expressive E Presets and More Sounds and Presets
Expressive E Presets: Synapse Audio Dune 3 Expressive Suite
You have to hand it to Expressive E. It’s not easy to change the game, but that’s what the company has done with Osmose, its unique MPE synthesizer. It also makes a stellar controller, and that’s why we’re talking about Expressive E presets today.

For the company’s latest set of sounds, it’s teamed up with Synpase Audio on the Dune 3 Expressive Suite, a bundle of three MPE sound banks with more than 300 presets total, and designed for the very capable plugin.
Those packs include Stellar Drift, a pad-packed set for film scoring, ambient productions, and futuristic sound design. Then there’s Nuit, which, as you might guess, leans towards the dark side of things. The last pack in the bundle of Expressive E presets is Lumen, with plucks, pads, and leads aimed at pop, electronic, and other melodic styles. No word on if it’s mysterious and important, though.
The bundle of Expressive E presets is available from the company for €39.99, a discount price that will eventually go up to €39.99. If you don’t already have Dune 3, you can get both the sounds and the software for €167.30 (down from €239). And, although these Expressive E Presets are designed for the Osmose, they’ll work with any MPE controller.
Marc Barnes Korg Wavestate Volume 13
Synthesist Marc Barnes is back with a new pack, Wavestate Volume 13. Contrary to how it sounds, this is actually his first commercial sound bank for the Korg Wavestate, the sample-powered synth available in a variety of form factors.

Wavestate Volume 13 offers 20 layered Performances built from 80 original Programs in a variety of styles. You get pads, strings and brass, sequences, basslines, leads, textures, pianos, and even beats. He’s designed them with performance in mind, and taken advantage of the Macro knobs as well as the joystick and mod wheel.
Wavestate Volume 13 is available now for £8.99.
KAV Korg Wavestate Weather Station Sound Pack
Staying in the Korg Wavestate neighborhood, we’ve got a new pack from KAV available on the always fantastic LFO Store. Called Weather Station, it’s inspired by weather and astronomical environments and is “perfect for creating ambient, cinematic, and electronic music,” according to the site.

Pretty much everything on the LFO Store is quality, and Weather Station is no exception. It gives you 40 performances and 68 programs, as well as 74.2MB of multisamples with plenty of evolving pads and atmospheric synth textures in a variety of analog and digital waves. Just listen to that demo video.
Get Weather Station for €15. The pack works with the Korg Wavestate, mkII, SE, and Native versions. We assume this includes the module too.
Oceanswift Zebra Motions Bundle
u-he’s Zebra is an enduring and eminently powerful software synthesizer. (There’s a reason that Hans Zimmer loves it so much.) While we’re all waiting for Zebra 3 to drop, why not revisit the passion and glory of Zebra 2 (now called Zebra Legacy) with the Zebra Motions Bundle from Oceanswift?

This bundle packages the complete series of Zebra Motions sets, that being Zebra Motions Vol. 1 and Vol. II. Inside, you’ll get 337 presets in .h2p and .nksf formats – yes, there’s complete NKS support, which means you get audio previews for Komplete Kontrol and Maschine. There’s a little bit of everything in here, including basslines, leads, sequences, arps, pads, drums, and sound effects.
Zebra Motions Bundle is now available on the Oceanswift site for €30. It also works with ZebraHZ.
Echograin Tranzwave Version 2
You may know Ensoniq for the SQ-80, a unique hybrid wavetable synthesizer from the late 1980s, and one that Arturia has emulated. Ensoniq released many, many instruments over its run, pioneering a new kind of wavetable technology called transwaves. This reached its apex in 1998’s Fizmo, an unusual and now exceedingly rare synthesizer.

Echograin makes a version of the Fizmo for Native Instruments’ Kontakt called Tranzwave, and now there’s a Version 2 out. Along with the four wavetable oscillators and ability to import your own wavetables, there are new features in version 2, including a dedicated Modulation Oscillator that features FM, PM, and ring mod options, as well as an expanded macro section, 100 impulses captured from the original synth’s FX section, and new creative effects.
This is more than just a Kontakt instrument. It really feels like a standalone instrument. The regular price is €49, but it’s currently on sale for €39.20.
