New Limited Edition acoustic for Marcus King announced
Epiphone has launched the Marcus King Signature El Dorado electro-acoustic guitar in Antique Natural. Based on the guitarist’s original 1970s model, it is now available as a limited-edition release.

El Dorado History
The Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado is based on the model Marcus has played since childhood. In the late sixties, El Dorados were the antithesis of Gibson’s Hummingbirds, built in Kalamazoo (USA) as the FT-90, and later in Japan in the seventies as the FT-350. Marcus received just such an El Dorado FT-350 from his father, the blues musician Marvin King.
Limited Edition
It has a compact body, initially featuring a striking pickguard, later simplified, and – as so often happens – eventually lost and only available on the used market at exorbitant prices.

What makes the Marcus King El Dorado special?
Epiphone has equipped this dreadnought with a solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides. This should result in a beautifully full and warm sound. It also has a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets, while the C-profile neck is made of mahogany and attached to the body with a set dovetail joint.
The massive mother-of-pearl inlays are striking and closely resemble the original design. Typical of an El Dorado is the longer scale length: 25.5 inches.
The headstock design is also a tribute to the Made-in-Japan models of the seventies, complete with a mother-of-pearl inlaid Epiphone logo. This signature guitar also features a bone nut and Epiphone Deluxe tuners with metal buttons.
LR Baggs
An LR Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle pickup and a built-in preamp are fitted at the factory. With volume and tone controls located at the soundhole. Making it perfect for stage and studio.
