Up the Irons: Dunlop Unveils ‘Killers’ CryBaby Wah
Following Weeks of Teasing the Killers Wah is Officially Revealed!

Dunlop has finally revealed the IM95 Crybaby Iron Maiden Killers Wah, as they have been teasing it on social media for weeks. This limited edition Crybaby celebrates the British heavy metal legends!
‘Killers’ CryBaby
British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are continuing their 2026 gear takeover. Following hot on the heels of Fender’s massive band-wide signature guitar collection, Jim Dunlop has officially announced the Iron Maiden Killers Cry Baby Wah, a collector’s edition stompbox that pays homage to the band’s gritty East London roots.
Insta-Hype
The release follows a clever “mystery box” social media campaign that set Instagram ablaze over the last few weeks. Guitar icons Kirk Hammett and John Petrucci were among the first to receive the unlabelled packages, sharing their reactions with millions of followers.
We all knew it was coming, and now NAMM is here, Dunlop has officially released it to the masses!
In a viral clip, Hammett (perhaps the world’s most famous wah enthusiast) is seen opening the box and letting out an audible gasp. “I love Iron Maiden, and I love this album,” Hammett remarked while admiring the pedal. “I’m getting a warm feeling in my heart right now.”
NWOBHM Secret Sauce
While Iron Maiden is known for their triple-guitar harmony attack, the wah-wah pedal was a secret weapon on their 1981 sophomore masterpiece, Killers. The effect was instrumental in deepening the dark, aggressive textures of tracks like “Wrathchild,” “Innocent Exile,” and “Drifter.”
They were part of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal), which fused raw punk attitude and galloping basslines with metal’s melodic intricacies. The late great Paul Di’Anno was the lead singer, and I spent many of my formative years listening to this masterpiece in the early ’80s.
Limited Edition
This new signature model joins an elite “clan” of Dunlop artists, including Slash, Kirk Hammett, Dimebag Darrell, and Jerry Cantrell.
A Visual Treat
However, this special edition focuses heavily on the band’s aesthetic legacy. Featuring the band’s mascot, Eddie, with all his hair (pre-Egypt, pre-time travel, pre-torture, madness, etc.).
I really like it, as it’s fun and celebrates a hard-working band who have a fantastic body of work.
Eddie!
I’m a child of the 1980s, so Maiden were a huge part of my musical journey. This new wah looks killer (literally) and features the iconic Killers-era Eddie emblazoned across the top. The custom-embossed, high-grip tread and the Iron Maiden logo along the side ensure it stands out on any pedalboard.
They also replicate the album artwork on the bottom of the wah, so it’s full on Maiden from all angles.
Beneath the hood, the pedal utilizes the legendary GCB95 Cry Baby Standard circuitry, delivering the same expressive, bold sweep that has defined rock ‘n’ roll since the mid-60s.
I have zero need for a new wah pedal ( I own 18 already), but 12-year-old me will be very disappointed if I don’t buy one. “Up the Irons!”
