Denon DJ Prime 4 G2: Multi-Function Pads and Real-Time Stems
In its latest generation, the Denon DJ Prime 4 G2 offers a major increase in processing power and some exciting new performance features.
Introduced in 2019, the Prime 4 is a 4-deck standalone DJ system with direct Wi-Fi streaming from TIDAL, SoundCloud Go+, Beatport, and Dropbox, independent zone output, and a range of storage and connectivity options.

With Denon DJ and AKAI Professional under the same InMusic umbrella, we’re starting to see technology from the MPC G2 find its way into the Denon DJ line. One of the first upgrades you’ll notice is the 16 MPCe multi-zone performance pads. These velocity- and pressure-sensitive trigger pads are equipped with 3D-sensing, allowing you to combine functions such as hot cues, effects, rolls, stems, and DMX lighting control from each pad.
Under the hood, the Prime 4 G2 has been upgraded with an 8-core ARM CPU with 4GB of RAM to easily cope with the onboard processing of stems. While the primary 10.1-inch touchscreen display remains, the jog wheels have been enhanced with LED displays and are now larger 8-inch controls.
While DJing, the Prime 4 G2 has the ability to render stems from tracks onboard, and there are dedicated buttons to create instrumentals and acapellas, and access Stem FX and Stem EQ. You can also link DMX lighting via a 3-pin SoundSwitch-powered output with support for Philips Hue and Nanoleaf formats.
Meanwhile, OmniSource allows seamless switching while playing between sources like USB, streaming, Serato DJ Pro, and VirtualDJ, making it easy to incorporate other devices into your setup. The effects section has also been expanded, and there is support for streaming on Amazon Music Unlimited and Apple Music.
