The all-new Death By Audio Space Bender looks like a stellar chorus effect and as ever has that fantastic DBA aesthetic. The pedal will work equally well on guitars and synths. Making it perfect for musicians everywhere.
This new Space Bender chorus by Death by Audio has some great features and is one of those pedals that covers a lot of ground. They call it s chorus effect, but it straddles flanging and delay too. DBA always make effects that you want to tweak and this latest design is certainly aimed squarely at tweakers. Offering dynamically modulated delay lines and more, let’s take a closer look at what is on offer.
“Never again will you say this chorus pedal just isn’t intense enough!” – DBA founder Oliver Ackermann
The pedal has a simple control layout that includes knobs for Speed and Depth. What really sets it apart from your average chorus effect are the three rocker switches which are labelled Delay Time:x1/x10, Modulator: LFO/ENV and Intensity: LO/HI. I really love that user interface, as it allows you to experiment quickly. Death By Audio states that users can coax modulated delay, chorus, and also flanger effects by playing with these simple controls.
Early adopters can also opt for the limited edition coloured version in white/orange, which I think has a very ’70s sci-fi look. Though I am quite fond of the regular black and white version myself, as it looks pretty sweet. If you wan teh limited edition version there are 200 units on offer, so you may need to move quickly to secure one.
As ever, I would very much recommend that you check out the video demos below to get a good idea of what you can expect from the Space Bender. I really like it myself, and as I mentioned earlier I think that the overall design and user interface are ace. DBA know how to make great quality effects and this latest one is looking like a very good one for creative musicians.
