Boss Katana MKII Firmware V2 – New effects, EQ and IR options
Boss release Firmware V 2.00
The ever-popular Boss Katana MKII guitar amp series has a new V2 firmware upgrade. Adding a whole host of new effects, EQ and Impulse Response options. This free update adds some great and very useful new features, making these amps even greater value for money.
Boss Katana MKII Firmware V2
The Katana MKII amps are now even better value for money with the new firmware V2.00 update. They now have a new equalizer and contour settings. Boss submits three new contours with four adjustable frequency curves each, two new effect blocks (solo and EQ) as well as two matching effects (Centa OD and Solo EQ) with the latest firmware update.
Global EQ and IRs
In addition, there are three global EQs that allow the sound to be adapted even better to the respective instrument. In addition, it is now possible to freely select the microphone on the line out of the pre-selected IR. Especially for recording or DI on stage, this is a useful update.
Which models will receive the update?
The update is free for all the Katana MKII amplifiers*. Therefore the update includes all of the following models Katana-50 Mk II, Katana 100 Mk II, Katana-Head MkII, Katana-100/212 MkII and the Katana-Artist MkII. It can be downloaded directly from the homepage at the respective amp (scroll up to the “K”). I love updates like these, as they add even more flexibility and useability, to what is already a great value product range.
As ever double-check the Boss site for all the firmware update details and follow the simple steps to update your Katana MKII amp.

Not to be a jerk, I do not own one, but why does an amp need so many global EQ’s? TMB and a good speaker not enough?
