A ridiculously fun module of distortion and self-oscillating feedback to soften up and destroy your Eurorack audio signals.

It’s a simple enough idea. Plug in some audio and then turn everything up to 11 and giggle at the madness of the thick, distorted sound that tears itself out of your rack. This is a lot of fun. Of course, you don’t have to have it dialled up to destruction and you’ll find a whole range of softer and manipulable tones lurking within.

Ciobra consists of a high-gain distortion circuit coupled with a feedback effects loop that happily devours itself when there’s nothing plugged into it. The big knob at the top blends between the dry and distorted signal. Not enough for you? Then flip the Drive button up for more harmonics and saturation. Need a bit more control? Then how about a Low and High EQ to place the sound better in your mix.

I’ve had one of these for a little while and it’s an absolute joy to use. It gives anything you want a satisfying crunch and those Blend and Feedback knobs get really fun during performance.

The Ciobra Distortion module is becoming available now for €190. I haven’t seen any demo videos out there as yet but as an example I used it on the Kick and Snare coming out of the Queen of Pentacles in the performance piece below. In the last few minutes I do a lot of fiddling with the Feedback.
