To avoid any low-end inconsistencies and clashes, SubCulture uses a pitch-tracking engine, which also ensures that the processing is accurate across the three engines. First, the Sub Layer allows you to blend a pitched subharmonic version of the input signal. Also, you can select the octave and shape the bandwidth of the layer to merge the signal seamlessly with your mix.

More Information

Rather than enhancing your hair follicles, the Root Boost section can actually increase or reduce the gain of the fundamental and adjust the bandwidth. Because the plugin analyzes the pitch of the incoming signal, the processing adapts to the different notes in your bassline. This is particularly useful because each note may react slightly differently, so you can adjust the processing to suit the bassline as a whole.

Finally, the signal passes through the analogue modelled Resonance section, which uses a parallel filter network to enhance the signal by introducing additional warmth and harmonics that make the pitch of the sound stand out. Meanwhile, you can also shape the signal with a range of saturation and compression algorithms for cohesion.

Due to its flexibility, SubCulture can be used for more than just bass processing. This means you can use it to thicken the lead vocal of a track, increase the range of guitars and synth leads, or use the Sub Layer section to add a textured layer above your drums. Overall, SubCulture is a versatile tool for producers and engineers in Pop and electronic music.
