Audio-Technica has been producing turntables and accessories like phono cartridges for decades, and although the company has diversified into pro audio over the years, you can still get the same level of quality as before.

The LP7X is designed with a thick MDF plinth and a 20 mm acrylic platter to reduce vibration and resonance. With careful attention paid to every detail of the geometry of the chassis, this ensures the optimal positioning of the tonearm, spindle, and platter for the best possible audio performance and tracking accuracy.

More Information

The J-shaped tonearm is constructed from aluminium, featuring precision bearings and a dual-axis gimbal to improve tracking even further. Included with the LP7X is the AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with an elliptical stylus (0.3 x 0.7 mil) that offers pristine separation of the left and right channels and exceptional tonal balance with extremely low distortion.

You can also swap out the stylus for any one from the VM95 series, which gives you a nice selection depending on your particular taste and purpose. In addition, if you have your own cartridge in mind, the tracking angle range of the LP7X tonearm and 16 g subcounterweight make it compatible with a wide range of headshells and cartridges.

One notable feature is the integrated phono preamp, which lets you use moving coil cartridges too, if you desire. To ensure consistent rotation speed, the platter uses a motor that is monitored with an optical sensor. Also included is a detachable RCA cable, a removable dust cover, and a 45 RPM adapter.
