NAMM 2021: Way Huge Atreides Analog Weirding Module: Spicey Slider Synth tones
It's a crazy synth pedal packed with effects that's out of this world
The new Atreides Analog Weirding Module by Way Huge is a crazy little stompbox full of sliders designed “for sonic voyagers”. It’s inspired by an Electro Harmonix Mini Synthesiser keyboard from 1980/81, and takes its name and some marketing mojo from a little box in Frank Herbert’s Dune books that hero Paul Atreides uses to focus his powers. Sounds like a lot of fun.

This little sonic attack box has sliders all over its front panel. And zero knobs! The Way Huge Atreides Analog Weirding Module is a different experience to most pedals, with a very synth-like appearance. The sliders are labelled Vol, Sens, Range, Bright, Fuzz, Rate and Sub.

Electro-Harmonix Mini Synthesizer
The sliders are labelled Vol, Sens, Range, Bright, Fuzz, Rate and Sub. The synth engine is inspired by the 80’s Electro-Harmonix Mini Synthesizer (as used by Van Halen on Fair Warning). And it’s got a battery of effects, too with a built-in fuzz, a sub-octaver and a phaser. The Atreides sliders control the synth’s envelope and adjust the amount of fuzz and brightness. Plus, you can add up to two octaves of sub and set the speed of the phaser effect.
I love you can combine all these effects to build you crazy synth-like guitar tones! Factor in Way Huge’s solid build quality and you have an exciting new pedal with loads of possibilities.
