UDO Audio Super 6 ST49: The SuperTouch 49 Fitted at the Factory!

After launching the SuperTouch 49 keybed at Superbooth 24, UDO Audio are now fitting these at the factory and selling the units as Super 6 ST49’s!
PolyAT From The Factory!
[Update: 9th April, 2025] One of the quieter launches at Superbooth 24 last year was the SuperTouch 49 Upgrade kit for the UDO Audio Super 6 synth. With their larger models supporting polyphonic aftertouch, owners of the smaller UDO synth felt a little left out.

So George Hearn released an upgrade kit that allowed users to easily swap out the old keybed and pop in the new one to get all the benefits that polyphonic aftertouch provides. And now, you can buy a new version of the synth with the ST49 keybed fitted at the factory.
This will be a very welcome addition to the UDO range, especially for those people put off by having to disassemble their precious synth. Now, for a little less than the cost of the upgrade kit, you can buy the synth and have PolyAT right out of the box! The new edition is currently only available in blue.

UDO Audio SuperTouch 49: Keyboard Upgrade Kit for Super 6
[16 May, 2024] If you have an original UDO Audio Super 6 and have been jealous of the polyphonic aftertouch capabilities of the Super Gemini and the brand-new Super 8, you’re in luck! The manufacturer has introduced the handy SuperTouch 49 upgrade kit, which allows you to add polytouch to your synth.
The kit completely replaces the keyboard of your synth. You can install it yourself without soldering; in-depth instructions are included. UDO Audio says that the upgrade not only adds polyphonic aftertouch, but also improves the all-around feel and weighting of the keyboard.
SuperTouch 49 is now available to order from UDO Audio’s web shop for $426 / £329.17 / €391.95. Shipping will begin in August 2024.
The UDO Audio Super 6 is available at Thomann*.

SUPER 6
[Original post by Robin Vincent, 17 April 2020] One of the most delicious synthesizers to emerge from last year’s Superbooth is the 12-voice polyphonic binaural analog-hybrid synthesizer with super-wave technology – really rolls off the tongue. Let’s just call it the Super 6.
It uses FPGA digital hardware to model the oscillators before running it through voltage controlled analogue circuitry. The sounds we’ve been hearing have been gorgeous. The main oscillator is a 7-core super-wavetable and that’s backed up with a DDS oscillator with FM, sync, sub oscillator and crossfade modes. The voice architecture is a flexible FPGA/ANalogue hybrid and the binaural side moves the signal path into stereo movement and spatial effects. And there are a lot of digital effects too.
Sound examples and deep dive demos have been thin on the ground and so a lot of the buzz around this synth has come from the people who got to play it at Superbooth or NAMM this year. But there’s no doubt that this has captured a lot of people’s imagination.

that’s great.
then it begs the question : will arturia do the same for the polybrute 6 ???
My Hydrasynth and Microfreak already do poly AT without mods and the Microfreak is cheaper than the Udo mod by itself :(>.
entirely different synth… all three
Yes, but I’m talking about poly at keyboards, not synth engines.
And the Polybrute is the same as the Super 6 because…..? Ah right, they both have 6 in their name.
