The Manley Dual Channel EQ Series brings in two new versions of Manley’s beloved Pultec-style passive tube EQs for mixing and mastering.

The first Manley Enhanced Pultec EQ was introduced back in 1990, with a reimagined version of the classic 3U EQP-1A that managed to expand the number of selectable frequencies while packing everything into a 1U rack unit.
Manley Dual Channel EQ Series
The Dual Channel EQ Series is more than just a reissue; it’s a modernized piece of Manley’s legacy. As anyone who has used these musical-sounding EQs will tell you, they are far from being clones. In fact, the commonality between the original Pultecs and Manley’s passive tube EQs is in the way you approach them as a user rather than their internal circuitry or sound.
The Dual Mid Band EQ has Low Peak, Central Dip, and High Peak filters, each with fixed Q curves optimized for musical interaction without the risk of overlapping artifact problems. While the Low and High Peak bands have five selectable frequency settings each, the Central Dip band has 11 settings so you can target and reduce boominess or boxiness in the midrange.
Meanwhile, the Dual Main EQ has a Low Shelf with Boost and Cut controls, a Boost band with variable Q, and a high shelf cut. The selectable frequencies follow the same 5-11-5 pattern as the Dual Mid Band EQ, for added control over the central band. Both EQs use the same all-tube design approach with a passive inductor-based network and Manley’s custom transformers.
While the Dual Mid Band EQ is ideal for sculpting and enhancing individual channels, the Dual Main EQ is better for channel groups and your main mix bus. What’s more, you can chain the channels together manually in series, as well as using them for stereo or mid-side processing, which opens up the scope of potential applications considerably.
